What AiM costs, exactly.

How the 25% success fee works

The fee is a share of the savings, not a share of the premium. We measure what you pay today for a year of coverage, negotiate the same coverage for less, and charge 25% of the difference — once, in year one. Every renewal after that, the lower premium is simply yours.

Worked example

Say your auto premium is $2,400 a year and we get the same limits, same deductibles, same carrier tier for $1,800.

  • First-year savings: $600
  • Our fee (25% of the savings): $150
  • You keep in year one: $450
  • You keep in year two and every year after: $600

Premium figures here are an illustration, not a quote or an average. Our average negotiated result is $1,247+ a year per policy — at that level the one-time fee works out at roughly $312.

The numbers above are an illustration. The real ones go into the results benchmark — every negotiated outcome we can publish, with the premium before, the premium after and an explicit column stating whether the coverage was held identical, and they are read back quarterly in the Renewal Increase Report. Both are free to read and neither asks for an email.

Why the fee stops after year one

Because the work stops after year one. We negotiate a price; once it is on your policy it belongs to you. Charging you again in year three for a call we made in year one would be rent, not a fee. If you want the policy re-examined at a later renewal, that is a fresh engagement — and if we cannot beat it that time, it is free again.

The $149 placement fee

Sometimes there is no policy to renegotiate: a first car, a home you have just closed on, a boat or yacht with no coverage yet. There is no prior premium to measure savings against, so a percentage of nothing is meaningless. In that case the work is charged as a flat $149 to source, compare and place the policy.

The two fees describe different situations, so only one of them can apply: either there is a premium to measure savings against or there is not. Moving you to a competing carrier is still a saving measured against what you were paying, so that is the 25% success fee, not the placement fee.

Whichever of the two applies to your situation is stated in writing before you accept anything. That is not a promise made only here — it is section 3 of our Terms: we disclose the exact fee in writing before you accept a quote, and the fee is only owed if you accept a result we negotiated — your current carrier repricing your policy, or a new policy we sourced.

$0 if we find no savings

The review is free and it is not a lead-capture ritual — it is the actual work. If your current policy is already priced where the market would put it, we say so and the engagement ends there. No consultation fee, no “analysis” charge, nothing to cancel.

This is the part most people do not believe until it happens, so it is worth stating plainly: a review that finds nothing is a normal outcome, not a failure state we route around. A policy written last month by someone who shopped it properly usually has little room in it. A policy that has auto-renewed for four years usually has a lot.

What is and is not included

Included

  • A line-by-line read of your current declarations page: limits, deductibles, discounts applied and discounts missed.
  • A benchmark against 50+ carriers, at identical coverage rather than at a cheaper coverage level that flatters the comparison.
  • Correction of rating errors we find -- wrong annual mileage, a garaging address you moved from, a driver or vehicle that should have come off years ago.
  • The negotiation itself: going back to your carrier, and to competing carriers, on your behalf.
  • A side-by-side of what you have against what we found, in writing, before you decide anything.
  • Help with the paperwork if you choose to move, including making sure the old policy ends the day the new one starts.

Not included

  • Your premium. You pay that directly to the carrier -- AiM does not collect or remit premium payments.
  • Insurance itself. We are not a carrier and we do not underwrite, bind or issue policies; the contract is always between you and the insurer.
  • Licensed advice. Our team are negotiation specialists, not attorneys, accountants or financial planners. Coverage decisions are yours.
  • Claims handling. If you have an open claim, your carrier and, where applicable, a licensed adjuster handle it, not us.
  • A guarantee of savings. Carriers set prices; underwriting, motor vehicle records and inspections can move a quote after it is given.

When payment is due

  • Nothing to start. No card, no deposit, no charge while we review.
  • Nothing to decline. If you turn down what we find, the engagement closes at zero.
  • The fee is owed once you accept. It becomes payable when you accept a lower premium we negotiated — whether your current carrier reprices the policy you already hold or you bind a new one — not when we start, and not when we produce a number.
  • Billed separately. Your premium goes to the carrier on the carrier’s schedule; our fee is invoiced by us and never comes out of a premium payment.

Do nothing, do it yourself, or hand it over

We would rather you chose deliberately than by default. All three of these are legitimate.

Cost, effort and likely outcome of doing nothing, negotiating yourself, or using AiM.

Questions people ask before they hand over a policy

What if I don't like the quote you come back with?

You decline it and owe nothing. Our fee is only earned if you accept a policy we negotiated and it is cheaper than what you have. Turning down a result costs you nothing and closes nothing -- you can come back at your next renewal.

Is there a contract or a subscription?

No subscription, no retainer and no minimum term. You are not signing up for anything ongoing. You engage us for a review; if it produces savings you accept, the success fee is a one-time charge on that year's savings. If you want us to look again next renewal, you ask us again.

How often do you re-check my policy after the first review?

A review is a one-time engagement, not a subscription. We re-price the policy you hold now, and the premium we negotiate is yours for as long as you keep the policy -- there is no second fee for year two. When your next renewal notice arrives, send it over and we run the whole thing again: a fresh engagement on the same terms, and free again if we cannot beat the price you already have.

Do you sell my data?

No. Our Privacy Policy states that we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share your details with carriers and brokers only to get quotes on your behalf, because that is the work you hired us to do.

My renewal is months away. Is it too early?

No, and early is usually better. Many carriers price an advance quote more favorably than a same-week one, and starting three to four weeks before your renewal date leaves room to correct rating errors and to negotiate rather than scramble. If your renewal is next week, call instead of using the form.

How is 25% of first-year savings calculated?

It is 25% of the difference between what you pay now for the year and what you would pay for the same coverage after we negotiate. If your annual premium drops from $2,400 to $1,800, the first-year savings are $600, the fee is $150 and you keep $450. Year two onward, the lower premium is yours with no further fee, so you keep the whole $600.

When do I pay, and do you take money out of my premium?

Never before you accept. No card is required to start, nothing is charged during the review, and the fee is only owed once you accept a result we negotiated -- whether your current carrier reprices the policy you already hold or you move to a new one. Your premium goes directly to your carrier -- AiM does not collect or remit premium payments, so our fee is billed separately from anything the insurer charges you.

What if the savings are tiny?

We tell you. If your policy is already competitive, the honest answer is that there is nothing worth moving, and you will get that answer instead of a sales push. A small saving is still your call: on a $120 annual reduction the fee is $30, and you keep the full $120 every year after.

What is the $149 flat fee for?

Placing a brand-new policy rather than renegotiating one you already hold -- a first car, a newly bought home, or a boat or yacht with no existing coverage to improve on. There is no prior premium to measure savings against in that case, so the work is charged as a flat fee instead of a share of savings.

Find out what the number is.

A free review, no card, and a straight answer either way. If there is nothing to save, you will be told that — and you will know your policy is priced properly, which is worth something on its own.
